It's always a chore trying to find out when your vehicle was produced, what was the original colour scheme, and the answers to various other inquisitive questions. Within this section of our web site, we hope to answer a lot of your questions, by providing you with various information gathered from many different sources. The best source for information about your own vehicle is to obtain an Identity Certificate from the Volkswagen factory at Wolfsburg. In return for a small fee and your chassis number, the factory will return a certificate showing the exact date of production, when it left the factory and which country it was destined for, model number, original engine number, colour scheme.

The certificate is very useful if you are trying to register a vehicle and require proof of age, this will also help if you require an age related number plate.
